He is not doing himself a favor. All that saturated fat will give him a heart attack. Two tablespoons with every coffee and that 4 times a day will leave a toll - even all that running won't compensate for such unhealthy lifestyle.

"Bulletproof" coffee/diet. Controversial for sure.
It's 2015 and people still think saturated fats are a bad thing. I'm not saying bulletproof coffee is the way to go but your body thrives on certain saturated fats.
Ryan Hall desperately want people to believe he is a hipster.

When it comes to attempting to fix something, people tend to just want to look at one single thing, vilify it, and assert that that one single thing was the cause of all their woes. With running, there are things like the type of footwear and with diet, things like cutting out saturated fats, gluten, simple sugars, conventionally grown foods (thinking organic is the solution to everything), etc. Most are simple minded and are easily seduced by promising claims fed to us, but only founded by bad science and promoted by quacks and celebrities.

This is the same guy who used to promote his consumption of pancakes made with Muscle Milk powder and other most dubious boolshiet foodstuffs. Telltale signs of Hype and $$$. Don't expect science and clean living from his direction.
Furthermore this is the norm amongst contemporary endurance athletes. Contradictions, shameless corporate sponsorship, facetious self promotion and motives, etc.
(On example: there are unapologetically hedonistic and meat loving contemporary endurance athletes who are sponsored by vegan brands! I wish I were joking.)
My expectations will be surpassed if he manages to make the 2016 Mary team. I'll have my birthday suit ready to go if he manages to break 2:08 again in his career.
Not a critical thinker...

The Kenyans put whole milk and a ton of sugar into there 10 cups of tea a day (they don't drink water). The fats help them in the late stages of the marathon!
they still also drink water dumb@ss

Just how dumb can you be?
There's water in their EPO drip line.
Perhaps he means milk. You all call milk cream so who knows
The saturated fat thing got out of hand (first of all, health is multifactorial and a single dietary factor can't alone account for rampant CHD in our population; second of all, if there was a single dietary culprit, it would be the sky-high glycemic index of the foods we eat).
That being said, there are some links between saturated fat intake and CHD - a review of evidence in 2010 found:
"the evidence from epidemiologic, clinical, and mechanistic studies is consistent in finding that the risk of CHD is reduced when SFAs are replaced with polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). In populations who consume a Western diet, the replacement of 1% of energy from SFAs with PUFAs lowers LDL cholesterol and is likely to produce a reduction in CHD incidence of ≥2–3%."
Not a huge risk reduction, but that's looking at SFAs as an isolated entity. Something to mull on.
Butter is not going to kill you.
Butter is not going to magically make you healthier.
Walter Willett from the Havard School of Public Health seems to have the most reasonable view on this issue:
Saturated fat is considered healthy only when it replaces an equivalent caloric intake of refined sugar in your diet. But you are healthier if you replace those butter calories with coconut oil. And you would be even healthier if you replaced those coconut oil calories with extra virgin olive oil. And you would be even healthier if you replaced that olive oil with an avocado.
Mono and omega 3 fat is better than saturated. Get your fat from whole foods like avocados, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish. Butter is only "healthy" when compared to trans fats and refined sugars.

No, it's a serious fad.
In reply to one above, I don't see the problem in adding whey protein to pancakes, provided they still taste good. Whey protein is milk.

Whey raises IGF-1 in your body and is high in leucine.
Both of these are great for putting on muscle and repairing your body from workouts. IGF-1 is also protective of neurodegenerative disease.
However IGF-1 can also make acne worse (in those susceptible) and increases prostate cancer growth. And prostate cancer LOVES to feed on leucine over any other amino acid.
So what do you want, performance or longevity? I permanently got rid of dairy due to the fact that it caused my adult acne and I have prostate cancer in my family.
Bulletproof coffee is AWESOME! Tastes great. The caffeine buzz is much more sustained and mellow. The issue is the calories, a serious consideration.
He puts slow in his races.
and weak in his mentality !
Those should be better topics than coffee !!!!
