Yeah what state do you live in bro?
I think that they shoulder get ride of state qualifying times and let everyone run state and give everyone a gold medal. It is unfair to the slower kids that they do not get to go to state and get a medal. Everyone should win.
NY here state qualifying times for the 800,1600 and 3200 is 1:56, 4:16 and 9:20
Those are sectional qualifying times, to qualify for state you'd probably have to be sub-2, sub-51.5, sub-4:40, and sub-10:00 at least, even in the weaker regions.
in Idaho for the smallest division Which is 1A, you typically have to run sub 2:10,sub 5 sub 11 to go to state. The largest division is around sub 2, sub 4:35, and sub 9:50.. Pretty easy am I right?

42 out of 50 states have some sort of qualifying system to get to state. Missouri is one of the state's that doesn't where I coach. However, we just added another class to our state championship.
Sectional qualifying times are 58 2:20 5:25 and 12:00

Pretty uneven is what I'd say. In both cases, the 800s are MUCH harder than the 1600 and 3200s
That's because everyone in Idaho is fatally allergic to any distance running of any kind. A lot of the fast mid distance runners don't go higher than the 800m. You can search it online if you want to too.
When I was in high school there were regional qualifying times, then you had to be top 4 in the region. I know mile and two mile were 4:35 and 10:20, and I want to say the 800 was like 2:05. It varied from region to region and year to year, but generally you'd need something like 1:58, 4:27, or 9:45 to make it out of the region.
