You've just been appointed the head coach of a college track program that has sat at the bottom of the conference standings for the past decade. You're AD doesn't care about what you do, as long as he isn't getting complaints and you don't break any NCAA rules. You have a full compliment of scholarships and solid facilities. How would you develop your program? What steps would you take toward your goal.
I'd love to hear some ideas on how people think a program should be built. By the way, if you just want to say "use drugs" or "import a couple of Boaz's and get out of the way", then move onto the next thread. I'd especially like to hear from some college coaches who have built successful programs.
