He hyped this announcement with at least two posts today about it and several others every other day this week. All it turned out to be was an extension to his contract. Is it just me or is that no surprise at all for a two-time US champ and olympic medal contender?

I wonder if he's encouraged in some way to run a few 400s or 1500s/miles. Difficult for any shoe and apparel company to spend money on an 800m-exclusive runner, especially one with zero oly medals and mainstream recognition. Still, happy to see the investment by Saucony.

He probably is. I mean with Ben True's breakthrough 13:02 and Molly Huddle's great year he seems to currently be the weaker one of the three

His performances, even recently, are certainly not weaker than True (and I am a big Ben True fan). He did run a World Record this year, albeit a soft, relay record.
