the course was actually 10,200 meters. Did Ryan Hill just run the equivalent of 28:20 in that mud? Most of the times seem in line with 10K but then again that course is fast.
Strava has me at 6.2 mi, but that is GPS based. I would go off of whatever they advertised/wheeled.
It was not long, my team had multiple guys set 10k prs. There is no way that happens on a long course.
Supposedly they made some course changes. The course has a smaller loop and then a big loop - I vaguely remember someone in a thread saying they just did two small loops instead. Can anyone confirm/deny?

Pretty sure based on times/performances of myself and others that it was only 10k.
It was not a super fast day with some wind, some very muddy spots, and doing the full hill twice (I am told that the 8k doesn't even do the whole hill once, and the usual 10k course only does it once).
We were told multiple times leading up to the race that it would be 10.2k, and even specifically stuff like "the 9k mark is 1200m to go". But no way it ended up being long, everyone with a Garmin said it's about 10k.
Look next to field "B". I don't exactly recall, but the course may have been cut shorter here. Did the runners follow right along the perimeter of the baseball field, or did it shoot out a little farther like the map shows?

well that's a relief - everyone said how fast the paul short course is...but I didn't run all that fast. that big incline twice was a tough nut.
but a good fair course - enjoyed running it.
weren't there two 9k marks?
course was wheel measured like 3x and is 10k, within 1%error for sure.
USATF was okay with a long course, but Lehigh was NOT.
it was not the same xc course that Salazar & rono raced on.
it is not even the same xc course for Paul Short - USATF wanted a MORE spectator friendly course.
Within 1%? You realize that's still 100 meters, right?

Employee 1.1 has measure the course. It was short, not long.

and yes -well aware of what 1% is...and to be within in for NCAA and other standards. USATF was fine with XC courses being long...and so is IAAF...but they were just being lazy...

If everyone thinks a course is accurate then it is probably short.
If everyone thinks a course is a little long then it is probably accurate.
If anyone uses a Garmin for evidence they are 100% clueless.
My Garmin showed 6.25 miles. Unless you hit the tangents, in the open, GPS will typically measure a bit long. So the race line was likely close to / a bit under 10k.
The 1 mile mark on the map is show further down the hill towards the bridge to the start / finish. We went straight up that incline. Also, we cut close to the trees surrounding field B.
I find it hard to believe that you can accurately measure a course while running with a measuring wheel. I have one - works well when walking but it'll bounce around and measure short if running. Not to mention slipping in the mud.

Distance measured by a Garmin / GPS is a handy guide. Since multiple people cite similar "GPS distances", you can assume that the course was slightly shorter.

I am positive that GPS measures less than what you actually ran (tangents).
Not sure if it matters, but the actual finish line was considerably further up the course than that map shows. I don't think it got to the other side of that road, much less the football field. I think the course was a little short if anything. Also, on those practice fields after the loop by the baseball field, the women have a 90 degree turn at the corner of the fields whereas the men run straight across.
