Love you petty dig at the Hansons. Granted the program may or may not be a grinder program at least they have been trying to do something positive over the last few years for US distance running. What have you done other than write a subpar "book" that demonstrated your nutritional ignorance and prove you are too damn slow to be competitive in marathons.
On positive side you do ok at ultras.

It sounds like he is experimenting with his training , not 100% of what to do and in this case at Fuk , how to pace. At 30 , he does not have much time left. Chasing milage will not be the answer.
Brave yes , stupid maybe more. Even paced within his limits might have gotten him the years best american time. Hopefully he learns.
