It's very hard for female distance runners who are accomplished at a super young age to stay successful as they mature. The Foot Locker curse - no FL champ has ever won an NCAA xc title - is well known but don't tell that to Anna Rohrer who seems poised to win FL title #2 on Saturday.

PS. Here's an amazing stat for you. There were 22 underclassmen at FL last year on the girls side. Only 6 are back this year.

why, because she ran a fast time on a short flat course? Rohrer hammered a good midwest field and ran 17:00 on snow and ice and hills. She has been there before and done it before and looks stronger than the year she won.
I think Rohrer will win but Debalsi could surprise a lot of people. Although she hasn't been running as well as last year, she said that she hasn't gone all out in any of her races this season. Despite her loss at Footlocker Northeast, you can't count a 9:55 2 miler out.

One footlocker champion only got beat by one foreign runner at the NCAA xc championships.
One footlocker champion only got beat by one foreign runner and one future multi Olympian at the NCAA xc championships.
One footlocker champion qualified for the Olympics in the marathon when she was 20 years old.
One footlocker champion won the NCAA 3,000 meter run as a senior.
Doesn't seem like much of a curse to me.
