That's about his actual 5M tempo pace, so not indicative of anything.

No fast locals did it. 15:49 wouldn't put you in the top 10 out of local HS runners. None of the Boise State xc team or former Bronco runners did it, nor the few local elites Boise has. We need to get some better incentives if we want the local scene to be more competitive. $$$!

What do you guys think he could do in a track 5k where he was really pushing it? I'm calling 13:5x

The guy that was 2nd was the 4th or 5th guy on the College of Idaho XC team, which has seemingly been down the last few years. He is behind their number 1 guy by about 1:00-1:30 every race, it seems like. Doesn't look like he needed to push it much to win at all. This course is also extremely flat with long straights, so by all means, it's pretty quick.

Just finished "Life Outside the Oval Office" today and found it to be a good read. The kid seems to tell it like it probably is. Thanks.
