Post your result here after you complete your 2014 Thanksgiving race!
Ladies and gentlemen. I would like it to be made known here first that I am taking a break from my local Turkey Trot. This year I will be playing football instead. That is all.
I will be a DNS at my race. No passion for racing after completing my fall racing schedule. See you at the 2015 TT.
I'm not paying $25 for 5 k.
I'm working the finish line. I'm injured -- my give a shit broke four years ago.
I'm racing my local turkey trot. Been practicing my gobble gobble all day.
I'm racing Sunday instead.
Far and above, Thanksgiving day must have the most races on the calendar than any other day of the year.

This.
I'm psyched and looking for redemption from last year, when I peaked a couple weeks early for the Ghost Gallop and just wasn't sharp for the T-Trot.
Seems for some reason it is hard to find a Turkey Trot that has a big pre-race dinner for the runners like most other major races do. So this evening, I headed out to the Olive Garden for a Never Ending Pasta Bowl, and by tomorrow morning I'll be stoked on glycogen (and I hope not too gassy from the garlic on all those breadsticks). One thing is for sure: I don't want to risk running out of fuel on that long stretch up Main Street just before the finish.
I'm worried, though, that, what with the awards ceremony, the drive home, getting cleaned up, waiting for the family to gather, etc., it will be hours before dinner, and I won't get my post workout protein in time to optimally aid recovery. I'm trying to decide whether I should have a family member positioned at the end of the finish chute with a drumstick in hand for me, or if maybe I should just velcro some turkey slices onto my fuel belt. I might sweat all over it, but the white meat often is kind of dry and I usually salt it a little anyway.

DNS :(
First overall with a blazing 21:48. Was worried about some xc looking boys but they never opened it up. I love small towns.

Pretty solid 8k time
I won a 5k while dressed as Santa (in a second skin / morph suit). 16:54-ish. Had to kick in the finish against a high school kid.
Gobble gobble :)
I was a top 100 finisher at the Ashenfelter 8k that has around 3000 runners. My time was 28:50 for an 8k(after not running for like a week and a half).
DNS
Slept in after a late night.
18:40 after not running for 2 weeks. First days back suck
16:05... great race, 29-degree start... top 10
Won my turkey trot!
20:50. It was -20, snowy, and hilly, so it took some guts to pull away from the pack. Won by 2 minutes!
