Are you claiming his marathon time is elite?

His PR is 2:14:09 (set in 2011).

The IAAF list for the marathon would have him tied for 405th place this year.

His most recent marathon was in 2012 - 2:15.54 - which would put him 560th this year.

I bet he's not even in 2:20 shape right now - I don't think he could even qualify for Olympic Trials.

Doubtful that he's elite.

World class would be a stretch, but elite probably fits.

He's barely elite by US standards. In Kenya, he's C-level (and that's being extremely generous)

Yes he did, and it's embarrassing.

His times may as well be elite for most cops who have to catch him by foot, how many cops can (in USA) can beat his times. I know WAAAAY back Lasse Viren was a cop, and many Kenyans list their occupation as cop, and they could probably catch him running, but for most catching him on foot would be impossible, they did get him by other means (back up, car,etc) though.

seriously, Chirchir, if he's who I think he is/was, had a very brilliant period of racing for a few years, winning most everything in sight below the level of say Falmouth. He was virtually unbeatable for a solid stretch, so he was certainly no slouch. crappy marathoner, but very tough to beat at 5/10k. pretty sure the last I saw him run well was at least 5yrs ago, if not longer.

There's a post about a RUNNER who RAN from the law to escape a sex crime. The guy is a good, but not elite runner (though apparently the cops think "Keynan Marathoner" must mean the guy just missed an Olympic medal)

...and for this thread we get a comment that tries to be current political satire, but is really just ignorant, racist, garbage that makes no sense in any context whatsoever.
