Today, the IAAF released the qualifying standards for the outdoor World Championships 2015 in Beijing, and athletes can qualify for the 1500 meters with Mile times (confirming if this is the first time for outdoor Worlds - we think that it is).
Women
4:06.50 1500m
4:25.20 Mile
Men
3:36.20 1500
3:53.30 Mile
Next up, Olympic 1500m qualifying via the Mile for Rio 2016!
BTW, the Mile was a qualifying distance for 1960, 1964 and 1972 Olympics (last time).
