You really thank it matters at Regional, a meet whose sole purpose is to qualify people for nationals. It's like a qualifying heat at Worlds or Olympics.
Seems like Grandpa has become a bit too old and is now on the decline.
Korolev thinks he\'s the man (LOL). Let\'s reserve judgment until Nationals, OK?

No, I don't. That's why I was asking.

What? What makes you say that "Korolev thinks he's the man"? I'm sure he needed a good confidence booster after a subpar conference race. It's not like he is going around telling people or thinking that he is better than Cheserek now.
Do you think winning a qualifying race "boosted his confidence"?

Yes. Why are you acting like he thinks it is the world championship? He's not acting that way. Was Ches a fool for winning the same qualifying race last year?
At Pac 12's 5 Colorado guys beat Korolev. Today Korolev beat Cheserek. Last year Cheserek was national champ.
THEREFORE BY THE TRANSITIVIE PROPERPTY 5 COLORADO RUNNERS WILL BEAT CHESERERK AND THE BUFFS WILL GO 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 AT NATIONALS
That course is only 9800 meters. Ches has all race distances calculated in his head and he was waiting for the final 200 to go from 10% effort to 35% effort and then the race abruptly ended on him. NCAAs won't be short though.
ironic since last year's ncaas (Ches's first championship) was at least 300m short
You would be funny, only you apparently don't realize that they didn't run a 10K course today. It was an 8K course.
Wait till they start paying the students to run. Then we'll get our moneys worth and see 12Km each and every race!. Title IXers too!

Ches is smiling and thinking to himself..."Korolev thinks he beat me. Let him think that for another 8 days (lol)".
Chez and Korelev were both at an allout sprint that last 100 and could not overtake Korelev. Chez was one step behind and let up with about 30 to go when it was clear he wasn't going to win it.
However, Chez was no higher than 5th throughout the race and looked very comfortable. It appeared to me that for the most part he took it easy, but just didn't have the leg speed to outrun Korelev in a sprint.

Methinks Johnny understands quite well the situation.
anyone who thinks Cheserek is not winning NCAAs, should bet right now, I will give you 5:2 and I am easy to find
Seriously, what's wrong with you guys? Korolev did not act like he is better than Ches, he doesn't think he is better than Ches, and yet you have your panties in a bunch because Ches let up a fraction sooner?
Yeah, the defending champ will repeat. And you will crow about how right you are in a situation where no one, nor Noone, was wrong. Typical Oregon.
