Note, that assumes that Michigan gets points even though the team they ran earlier in the year was different than the one today. WE know you can't earn points for beating a 'b' team but we believe the 'b' team still gets points for rocking it early in the year with Finn.
So consider the first post to be unofficial.

So Arizona State, despite beating 9 squads you list as "IN" are sitting home?
-
Getting 8th in your region can do that.

OUCH! Gotcha, thanks -
Had they beaten Cal and Portland for 6th they would've been in, I believe.
-
Cool, after double checking, both the mens and womens qualifier lists look good to me. We had a slight change of reasoning for the womens but the list seems to be the same.
Of course you can never be 100% sure but these are our best guesses.

When are official team/individual results announced?

According to the NCAA regional rep at the site where I was working, the committee does selections between 9 and Noon on Saturday with the selected teams posted by 3 pm. -
Would UCLA women still be in if they had lost to Cal instead of beating them by a point?

Thanks to the genius of Bo Waggoner's computer program, here are your women's qualiflers. Teams selected:

UTEP has to really thank New Mexico as they wouldn't have gotten in without a bad day from UNM. -
The results are in... Let's hand out some awards....
I've got some 'coaching awards' for the southeast regional.
One for Duke:

One for William and Mary:

I just ran the program and UCLA would be the final team in (pushing Cal). -

How are the regionals set up? The Mountain Regional only had 17 teams and 106 finishers and the NE Regional had more than twice that with 39 teams and 262 runners!??!?!
-
How many good teams did the two Regionals have - about the same with the Mountain Regional being better. The NE Regional has a lot of small schools that are in DI sometimes because of BB programs or history or they are in DIA but that is still DI. They are also designed so that you do not have to travel too far, and in the NE many can drive over that morning if they want to. In the Mountain Regional if you are non-competitive but are 500 miles away you might not make the trip. How many teams from southern California did not make the long trip up north? Of course, western schools are newer and not as many of them are DI.

Correct. They needed to beat two teams. Today, I had some time and had that happened they would have been the last team into NCAAs.
