Hey, Folks!
Recently I started my second year as an athlete. I am training for 200m/400m Last year I was doing usual training cross country runs/ weights in winters, higher intensity intervals in spring and so on. However , now I am doing an experiment - No cross country or long runs at all.
My training is basically like :
Monday: Weights ( Legs + core )
Tuesday: Speed endurance 6x200m or 5x300m or 10x150m with 5 min rest
Wednesday: Weights ( Upper body + core )
Thursday:Speed work , Block starts 5x40m , some flyng starts 5x60m or 4x120 , something like that
Friday: Weights ( Legs + core ) or 8x200m with 100m jog as recovery , at relaxed , controlled pace
Saturday: Strides on football field 10x120m with slow 50m jog, realxed, controlled pace + Weights ( Upper + body ) or Leg day. (Depends on what I did on Friday)
Sunday: Hill sprints 5-6x110 with 5 min recovery + Some jumping etc.
My question is - Will I manage to get enough strenght and base endurance with doing only these workouts to pull off good times in both 200m and 400m? I am feeling faster day after day, also my speed endurance is quite good, but if I have to jog for more than 15 minutes, then I'm done.
