The prediction threads for the 2016 US Olympic marathon squad are kind of sad. People fall largely into 2 camps: those who pick Meb & two "dark horses," or those who insist Hall, Ritz and a shriveled-up Abdi will reappear to steal spots. (Granted, I hope Ritz returns to form and I'd wager he will to some degree, but not necessarily for January, '16 and no more PRs).
The lists are composed of aging runners, injured runners, or runners who just aren't that talented who we're only discussing for lack of real muscle.
Will Ben True or Chris Derrick move up with the aim of winning the trials and being our top man in Rio? Seems like a golden opportunity.
