Hey I'm looking for some help on 800m training. I'm in high school and I'm going to take this winter season off to train on my own for the 800m. That said there will be very little opportunities for me to run and I don't have the drive to go out for 8 mile runs in freezing weather (gets pretty cold here). I have a gym subscription with a pretty nice weight room that I've been going to pretty often.
Is it still possible to get good at the 800 this way? I am not sure how I will be able to fit in cardio besides once or twice on the weekends. By 'good,' I mean under 2:10. Could someone give some advice?
