There's a pic of Tanner crossing the line in 14:33 and Dressel was announced 14:48. But seriously, 14:33 on that course should go down as one of the all-time greatest HS performances.

I was there. Dressel took the lead and started to pull away slightly around 2 miles. Tanner passed him with 500 to go and opened up a sizeable gap

It was the same course everyone else ran and those times look right.

So, what was the time???

Pretty sick though, what did Lukezic run at Sunwillows?? I believe he never broke 15, neither did Kiter.

Same thing happened last year with the initial results being fast. And yeah the course record stayed well above 15min until just a few years ago. Like I said, 14:33 is unreal.

Nobody broke 15 until Anthoney Armstrong went 14:58 three years ago. Lukezic lost to Jesse Fayant 15:30 to 15:33 on a day that was blowing about 20 mph. The course was shortened between then and now, so it's not a good comparison anyhow. Kiter ran 15:18 his junior year and won by 25 seconds.

Dressel must have totally shut it down when Anderson passed him. It's hard to lose 15 sec over 500m, especially at that level.

Tanner Anderson is a monumental talent. Seen some of his workouts, very modest, crazy ability. I'll take a lot of flak for this, but if he goes for it, Fisher is in trouble. Feel free to refresh this thread when Tanner claims Footlocker.

Course was shortened, Lukezic is still the kind of WA HS distance running.

3:33 1500m, none of these kids will ever touch that. The Armstrong kid, what happened to him? Did Metcalfe get to him or something???

Keep in mind Dressel went out in 9:22 (according to live blog). Blowing up in the last 500meters like that doesn't seem too implausible. 14:48 is still amazing and one of the all-time greatest WA performances.
