Do Nike XC teams have to be made up of kids who are all from the same school? Please don't comment unless you know. Thanks!

Yes. If they aren't all from the same school, they are (supposed to be) removed from team standings.
Thank you for answering. Not that I don't believe you, but I couldn't find this info anywhere. Do you know where to find "the rules" for the meets?
How can Nike enforce that? The whole charade of NXN with the state associations is that it is not high school teams competing.
What if an All Star team was entered for a city?
Go to the link below and click on the link for your regional meet.

Click on the contact link for your region and send some emails asking if the club team has to be kids from the same school. In their online information I don't see anything that says this is the case.

fyi, their website does not work for me in IE. You may have to use chrome or firefox.

It looked like they changed the wording, but I can guarantee that the same-team requirement is the same.
There are pages exactly like this on each of the region's websites:

Because when a "club" enters, they list all the individuals they are bringing. Meet directors can then look at the individuals included and make sure that the runners competed for that school. For those rare runners that didn't compete for the team during the season, I'm guessing the Meet Director makes sure they didn't compete for another school during the year. Not sure what they'd do in the case of an athlete that didn't compete in any sports for any school but was brought along as part of a team for NXR... but that is really the only scenario in which meet management might not know that the athlete didn't attend that school.
ssounds prejudicial against home-schooled kids - do they have a team?

Actually, yes, home school athletes have formed their own clubs in the past. Some home schooled athletes are even allowed to compete as a team with a state championship, even! San Antonio's FEAST Home School in Texas, for example, competes in a few invites during the year and is actually part of the TCAL (to my understanding). Capital Homeschool in Michigan is another case, although they aren't part of an athletic association but do compete in a state meet of sorts against other non-traditional school entities.
I believe both have competed at their local NXN Regionals as clubs in the past.
As for the more common issues of home schooled athletes... USUALLY those athletes CAN and DO compete for their local high school, and would be able to compete with their teammates on a club team.
Your name wouldn't be Ian, would it?
Older than Dirt, thanks for the best pointers. I would have done that initially, but the site in chrome does not provide the menu (in which you can find the contact email addresses). It does work better with the Safari browser, though. I'll let you all know what they say. So far, I haven't seen anything that indicates that all team members need to be from the same school, though I am certain many teams do it that way.
same school = same club
