So considering today, who are the 3 US women for the marathon in Rio?
1: Shalane Flanagan
2: Des Linden
3: ?
Maybe somebody from : Hastings, Wade, Santucci, Kleppin, Burla, Bersagel, Goucher, Kastor
I guess I'd bet Hastings

And people said Meb was done after his NYC marathon last year
Did Meb talk big before the race?
I'd put Huddle up there with Hastings if she decides to focus on the marathon for 2016, which she's mentioned as a small possibility.

I think their pre-race goals were similar. Why does that matter?
Huddle would have a better shot at a medal in the 10k IMO. No reason she can't give sub 30 a scare
I'll take Burla.
Sara Hall for Rio squad.
As long as god shows up for the trials.
Alana Hadley
IMHO: pretty stupid to try to predict this one year or more out from the Trials themselves.
Tell me who you have winning the Super Bowl in 2016.

That's the fun in predicting, jack@ss.
Don't worry, we'll have at least a dozen more prediction threads on this topic between now and the Trials.
If your opinion is so humble, maybe keep it to yourself and let us have fun speculating.
1) Flanagan
2) unknown
3) Kastor

I know you are joking but she doesn't meet the IAAF age limit for Rio anyway. She's working her way toward Tokyo.
To me, right now there are three clear favorites:
1. Flanagan
2. Linden
3. Hastings
We'll see if Kastor or Goucher can put it together or if one of the women from the second tier can make a jump. I'd be shocked if Flanagan doesn't make it and I'm starting to feel that way about Linden too.
I hope you are joking? Any list that does not include Desi is a joke.
Haha thank you for understanding me. In all seriousness do you think she'll hit the track for some 10 or svsn 5k's this year or do you think she'll stick to the roads?

Flanagan, Desi, than..??? I would say Hasay if she would run it, but she's stuck on the 10K.
Jordan Hasay in the 10k for sure.
Flanagan.
Linden.
Buzunesh Deba.

In the past her dad said that she'll be sticking to the roads. Most of the top marathoners like Shalane, Kara, Amy Hastings and others continue to run 5k-10k on the track.
Alana's only strength, in my opinion, is that she has outworked her peers and her advantage is at the longer distances. Dropping to the track distances would be a blow to her confidence.
