Great to see the rise again of the Wisconsin women. Hopefully this will be the start of something special...again!
Schrobilgen defends (has chance to do a four-peat), walk-on VanVoorhis second (is this the best finish for a pure walk-on, did not even run on the team until part-way in his soph year).
Wisconsin go 1, 2, 14, 16, 18, 20
Wisconsin 47
Michigan 77
Penn State 92
Indiana 95

Obviously not the same as the Big 10, but Missouri State had a runner that went to school with no intentions of running (didn't come out for the team in the fall) and ended up winning the MVC cross country title in his 3rd xc season.
No Erin Finn for Michigan? Anyone know the story on that?
Rumor has it Wisconsin's recruiting class is off to a good start as well.
Olin Hacker verbal commit to the Badgers for next year. The talent keeps coming.
There was a post or tweet on the Big Ten feed about her being injured. Not sure if she will be able to do either Regionals or NCAAs. They probably have enough points to let her skip the Regionals, which are in 12 days.
The badger men are back on top as well. Ferlic didn't seem to have it today.
6/7 of Wisco are underclassmen.. they're good now, but will be scary in 2 years.
i wish they would post results online instead of pdf files
Good for Gondak.Good result for PSU men
Any idea what happened with Kromer and the DNF?

Amazing turn-around in one year for the Badger women. Alums out there are sure to be ecstatic!
Assume from the splits that Russ Sandvold was sent out to ensure an honest pace and then he DNF'd after completing his job. Strongest, fittest team usually wants a quick pace so they took matters into their own hands. Some years Wisco is strong enough that one of the front runners has the job to push the pace. This year that job was given to the 8th man.
That PDF format is garbage. Who hired that clown timing company?

Yeah I was told by a coach at Heps yesterday that she was injured and would not be running, but i wasn't allowed to post it. I believe she's done for the year...
Not sure if it's a stress fracture or not.
Sad to see. The dream of the all michigan squad winning it is officially gone.
Kromer was 6th for Wisconsin, 20th overall. Sandvold is the only listed DNF for the race. 7th was McAsey in 36th, and it appears that they only ran eight, although nine are allowed, I think.

For those of you who know Mick, he is a teacher-educator first (worked as Special-Ed teacher in Spanish Harlem and Bronx while coaching Iona in earlier years); therefore, as a parent, you'd want a guy like Mick shepherding your child thru the college maze. He's never aloof. With humor he bonds with kids. Mick recruited several of my boys and I think they wish they had sacked-up to brave to Wisco winters !
