Due to visa issues in Ethiopia, Robertson will miss the Great South Run. He is looking for a half marathon, but mused about Dubai or London next year. What do you guys think about this? I would love to see him give the marathon a go.

Sounds like that comment was in response to a previous comment from someone else suggesting he should pace a marathon for some cash (rather than talking about actually doing a full marathon himself). He's just taken his 1500m down to 3:34, seems like a funny choice to jump into the marathon, where the african dominance is so strong right now.
I think that would be awesome, although perhaps he was overwhelmed by being unable to compete in his target race at the last minute and was just throwing around ideas without a great deal of consideration. I think he will have to make that choice depending on how the half marathon that he mentioned goes.

This.
He wasn't talking about running a marathon, it was the thought of pacing one. Gotta get that $$$ when you are heavy in da game.
