Instead of saying you earned 4 varsity letters in XC, does it make sense to say "4 x Letterman" ?.......or do you only reach letterman status once? (the first time you make varsity)
and would it be "4 x LettermAn" or LettermEn ?
I tried looking it up online but didn't find conclusive results
I never ran in HS but played varsity tennis. Each year I played varsity (the first one a BIG letter) then after each year, I received a small "v" to add to my sleeve letter jacket. Sort of like when you earn stripes in the military. Not sure how they do it for XC.
At my school you had to qualify for your letter unless you were a senior then it was automatic. I don't remember what it took to letter in XC and track but if you were halfway decent it was not unlike cake.
I would just say "I lettered 4 times." 4x letterman makes sense I guess. But "Lettermen" seems like it would refer to multiple people.

Four year letterman is the phrase to use.
We're you a 4 x honor student or a 4 time honor students? Lettermen makes no sense.
4 x letterman in basketball or baseball or football would be something to brag about. I'm not sure about xc.
