Two weeks ago I did my first triple ever. My car was in the shop and I'm at work when they're open, so I told them to leave the car on the street, locked, and I'd pick it up after hours with my extra key. Ran there at 5am to pick it up and it was not outside. Ran home, had breakfast, got some things done, then went for run #2 at 9am back to the mechanic's. Shared my disappointment about their mistake, picked up my car, drove home, showered, went to work, then stopped at the trail on the way home from work at 5pm for run #3.
The runs were 6, 3, and 11 miles, and I'm not sure if it even counts as a triple since the second run was so short. My mileage that week ended up being about 80 in 10 runs in 6 days. Two weeks before that was my highest mileage week ever, about 120 in 12 runs.
I'd love to be able to run 2-3 times a day for 120-150 miles a week. Unfortunately no one will pay my slow ass to do that, so I have to have a real job, which prohibits me from keeping that up.
When I'm really busy, I find I only have time for singles--since I have to do things before and after each run, the most efficient way to get the mileage in is to do it in as few runs as possible. Do you not shower after runs? Also it's weird that your triple does not include a morning run. But whatever works for you.
