Hi, I'm a senior in high school and i'm really commited to running. I run XC and T&F. My times are:
100 - 12.9
200m - 26
400m - 56
800m - 2:08
1600m - 4:59
5k - 18:26
I'm not sure if I'm more of a sprinter or distance runner. This summer I injured myself (stress fracture) for jumping mileage, I was going 35mpw and i jumped to 50mpw! I ended up getting a stress fracture. Now i'm doing XC workouts and we usually run 25-30 mpw. I don't seem like i'm improving and the workouts aren't hard for me. Indoor track is coming up this winter and I know i'm not going to do good in XC so I just want to focus on track. I haven't did any time trials in a while but i'm sure i'm a little faster.
Any training or tips to better my 800m/1600m time?
I'm 17 by the way!
