Same. I feel like I can't breathe in the mornings. 4-6ish is when I start to feel ok. I run best at night though by far.
Do your workouts at the time you will be racing.
If you are training for marathons or road races, you can expect that most of your races will be in the morning. It makes sense then to run your workouts in the mornings to prepare your body for racing in the mornings.
Similarly, if you are training for track races, you can expect an afternoon or evening race most of the time. In this case, it makes sense to do your workouts in the afternoon or evening.
I prefer evening even if races are in the morning. Getting up for long runs early on the weekend is preparation enough for early races. On race day, you have enough motivation.
Absolutely prefer running any type of run in the evening. Races are the only AM running I do.
