Lots of misinformation about the Stanford women. Cranny is running. http://www.gostanford.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30600&ATCLID=209693298 Cuffe has a stress fracture and will likely be lost for the entire season. http://sports-trivia.info/xc-blog-why-this-years-cross-country-programs-have-great-promise/
Villanova has split their men's squad with most of the top 7 going to Paul Short.
The women have sent what looks to be the best they have this year, but they seem to be ranked too high although they usually run better later in the season.
This thread 5 years ago would have had 100 posts by now. Very few serious posters anymore. Board is now a free for all with limited running commentary. Even the wetmore article generated only marginal interest -- years back that would have been a 400 post thread. But I guess the nonsense sells more ads
Thanks for the updates. We do our best to keep our pulse on what's going on with the sport but sometimes we miss things.
Obviously I should have checked the Stanford website before the meet but it's interesting that Miltenberg has opted to debut Cranny and Laman at Washington. Perhaps Cuffe's injury accelerated his plans for them since they will be counted on to shoulder a heavy burden for the Cardinal this fall.

Maybe if college xc was more interesting then more people would post about it. But every year it seems like teams want to race less and less and hold back their top runners until late in the season because they think that only regionals and nationals matter. The sport is killing itself. They need to change it so every meet counts.
Agreed!

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
