Why do people still choose iPhones over Android phones?

for me, it's simply itunes. I use itunes a huge amount and don't want to have to deal with some third party app to try to get all my music and podcasts on to an android phone.

Could I figure it out? Sure. But there will no doubt be hair pulling moments and an extra step here and there.

I like the closed system of an iphone - it's just so easy.

Of the dozen or so high end Android phones, only a few are tablet sized.

Exactly what has been said, its just easier. My ipad, itunes, etc all linked to my phone. Much more straight forward OS. I don't need the random crap android brags about adding such as a talking voice remembering where I ate last week. If I've already eaten there I don't need you to remember and tell me directions because I've already been there.

Plus I'm annoyed by their weak attempt at bashing apple in their commercials. Just advertise your product and stop worrying about other companies for christ sake.

That's quite a remark, coming from you.

Apple was very clever in locking people into devices. The web services are a huge part of the stickiness of users. These same users are perfectly willing to sacrafice privacy and control for convenience.

If you really cared about how your phone worked and security, you would buy an android type phone which allows you to remove the battery i.e. not Nexus, and root it. 99.5% of smartphone users will never do this, so this is really a moot point.

I find Amazon music to be more than adequate. They are aware of my consumption habits, but I always use a VPN on my computer and phone, so they at least do not know where I am, etc.

We better hope the Chinese government never makes a $1trn bid for GOOG. All of our safety would be at stake were that to occur.

Honestly, there are too many Android choices.

If you choose Android then you get bombarded with all kinds of sub choices and have to do research to figure which one may be best for you.

If you choose iPhone you just choosing color or whether to get the latest one.
