Kimetto's new WR is certainly amazing, but I am more impressed with Steve Jones running 2:07:13 Chicago 85. After dropping the Rabbit Carl Thackery at the two mile mark, he ran ran by himself for 24 miles. Still the greatest marathon ever run in my book. Jonesy!!!!!
Seeing as 2:07 is significantly slower than 2:02:57, I'd say no.

This is one reason why American's can't hang with the east African in distance running. For some reason we are willing to see that a 2:07 is greater than a 2:03.

Obviously Chicago was a good run. If Jones had run the WR that day, more people would agree with you.
I know Kimetto ran 3+ minutes faster than Jonesy. I doubt he would of run a world record if he had to run 24 miles of it solo like Jones did. That is why I think Steve Jones had a more impressive performance. He did it by himself. Big difference there.

Granted the recent records ARE astonishing, however we cannot truly (yet) determine how many are chemically-assisted.

it was indeed, and was used very successfully by many great champions of the era from 5000-marathon
Odds are the OP is from the United Kingdom. Americans wouldn't know who steve jones is, let alone think he was better than Kimetto.
