lol
Kenny can handle it. His plan was for sub-2:00 anyway. Keep an eye out fellas. History will be made.
jos needs to up the sauce
Kenneth is a concreet runner. This record will be his.
It should be fun watching him try. He and Haile Gebrselassie have similar track/championships records, but the latter is the one who broke the WR in Berlin in '07 in 2:04:26 and again in '08, as the first to break 2:04 (2:03:59).
Bekele definitely will want a record and earn that GOAT status. He might be wishing he ran today, as it partly comes down to the weather, which has been unpredictable, and largely shitty all year in Chicago. It could be 35 F, rainy and windy, or, less likely, too hot. OTOH the marathon has some good juju and has enjoyed good weather most years.
Since 1984, Chicago has been the site of the WR twice (Steve Jones & Khalid Khannouchi) and Berlin seven times, with Rotterdam twice and London once.
He's not sh*tting himself. He's on the same drugs, or has access to, whatever Kimetto is on.
lmfao! He'll get it
Kenenisa is almost definitely not going to break 2:03...he has less marathon experience, and will be racing a slower course with a less competitive field. I think he has a great chance at the 2016 Oly Marathon gold though, because he is so solid tactically and will thrive over Kimetto and others in an unrabbited race (just think of Kiprotich winning in 2012/13!). He also is an expert cross country runner and knows how to efficiently handle hills and turns.
Anywhere near 204 and/or a win would be a huge run for Kenny. I can't wait. The weather does need to cooperate though for a fast time.
He can just take 1 second per mile off the old pace plan.
2:04 high...and i'm being generous...Chicago Is not Berlin or Dubai.

If they let him get away with EPO use as he did in his heyday, you are probably right.

ha!
No, he is an an asphalt runner.
Bekele will run a great race in Chicago, in the 2:03s. (Time depends on weather.)
He will finish 2nd to Kipchoge.

Oh, that's fantastic
He should worry about winning the race, first. Beating Eliud Kipchoge will not be easy and should not be taken for granted.

Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
