Is it the same course every year or do they change it?

This should work.

Relatively the same course.. but there's no way it was the exact same. When you're talking golf courses where they draw up the turns in the middle of fairways, and they're repeating this.. you're bound to have faster years than others. Basically the same layout/loops though.

Stanford is hurting this year.

Golf course xc. High School races were fast too. 1 min is extreme though.
-
they didn't run a few of their top 5... their top 3 are prob the best top 3 in the country

I watched Efraimson speed by me and her competitors with 500m to go but she was listed as taking 3rd place.Did something happen to her?Times were much faster this year because it was also 20 degrees cooler than usual at Stanford.

De La Rosa's ex-teammate and Sergio Gonzalez's younger brother Josue Gonzalez came in 20th, 24:19, for San Jose State.
Nice job by Josue. He was Arcadia's 3rd or 4th runner last year. -
what school does Estevan De La Rosa run for?

I do not know.
There was some talk on another web cites message board in the spring that a bunch of Arcadia runners were thinking of going to San Jose State.
Gonzalez is at San Jose for sure. I don't know if anyone else from Arcadia is there red shirting.
At this time San Jose St. only has men's cross country. No track. Track is maybe one to two years away.
The women do have cross country and track.
I know this because my son roomed with one of the cross country runners last year. No, my son is not a runner he's on the baseball team. -
Last year's course had a turn or two modified for some reason resulting in a course longer than 8k and 6k thus resulting in winning times of approx 24:25 and 21:00.
The course yesterday was back to it's normal length which, along with cooler weather for one, resulted in pretty fast times.
Cranny may open next week in Seattle although there was talk she and Anna Laman/Australian frosh and World Jr. meet participants would not race until the Wisconsin meet at the earliest. Word is that Laman will race Seattle, so maybe Cranny as well.
For those who may not have heard, Aisling Cuffe is recovering from a summer injury; her racing status for this fall is unknown at this point. -
Aside from cool weather this year, Stanford produces fast times when it has not rained in a while. We are in a draught, so the ground is dry (Stanford is run on the grass golf course). When the ground is dry, the course is fast. When the ground is moist, it is bouncier and slower.
Fast recent years = 2011, 2014
Slow recent years = 2012, 2013 -
That course changes from year to year. If you go there in the off-season, it's almost impossible to gauge where the course goes. It's totally confusing. How they figure it out each year must be a real chore. It seems random but has some standard markers. But still, it's somewhat different every year.

Geez Cuffe and the other Rosa are injured? Stanford always disappoints me

I would know ;) wrote:

Um, you know it didn't rain at all in 2013 in the Bay Area right? -

Didn't it just rain for the first time (and it rained for hours) a few days ago? -
The course was long last year. I think it was about 40 seconds slow last year.
