why is the men's race so much deeper? less than 1 second between 1st-2nd in men's field, and 15 seconds between 1st-2nd in women's race. Is that typical?

Because the men's winner ran a time that wouldn't qualify for NCAA champs and the women's winner ran a time that would win NCAA champs. Huddle pushed the pace and the guys didn't.

He did. He has duel citizenship and now has decided to run for the U.S.A.

That's a very solid performance for German. He ran only 8:03 or something like that in Europe before running 3:57 and here breaking 14 in a road 5k that was clearly tactical with a blanket finish. Congratulations to Estrada. I hadn't heard from him for a while but he was an awfully talented collegiate runner with a best around 13:15, but under the radar because of the big guns.

I say it's Matt McElroy. I do not see him finish at the end.

He ran a 3:38.1 and a 13:47 this year as well.
