Just posted on his fb page 2 photos of himself running repeats on a treadmill, repetitions at 20% grade. He captioned it with saying he's enjoyed being self coach, but is excited to be working a new coach now. Which coach has runners run repeats on a steep incline on the treadmill?

Probably Hansons. He just needs to get back to basic smart training.

Hudson and his 8 second hill sprints? If so, I see another sub-2:06 in RyGuy's future!

Jack Daniels

Chris Chavez says Jack Daniels is the guy via Twitter.

Predictions on whether or not Daniels will bring hall back to American marathoning glory? Or will it be the same old same old? Will hall give his new coach enough time to see the effects of a new training system?

The fact that he is training on a tradmill is not a good sign...

I'm wrong, it wasn't Garyx. It is Jack Daniels

JD-coached runner Ken Martin might disagree. -
If he still lives in Redding, CA, it was 98F there today. Regardless of where he lives, any training as opposed to no training due to heat IS a good sign.

Does anyone know why the Canova thing fell apart so quickly? Is there any reason to think this will turn out better? Has Jack Daniels coached many elite marathoners?

Daniels was not her primary coach--not by any means--but Joan Benoit gives him much credit for her success in the 1984 OT.
Last I heard, JD was also a devout Christian, so he could be a good match for Ryan Hall. I wish them both well. -
Will Ryan continue his strategy of racing smaller 10k's and half marathons or will JD put him on a more structured program? Any predictions on how fast JD will help him run?

Martin ran his best times at Oregon. -

Joan Benoit credits Bob Sevene for advising her. -

He was long out of college when he ran 2:09 at NYM. -
I'm not sure when he made this list.

Sev DID NOT coach all of those guys. I'm surprised that he would so grossly embellish his resume. His record with athletes he actually coached speaks for itself. -

It was my understanding that Hall either wasn't ready for the workouts or couldn't stick to the training plan because of injury. But that's all second/third/fourth-hand knowledge, at best.
I imagine Hall would be an extremely difficult athlete to coach if you could not personally observe his workouts.
