I am running 2 days of doubles right now, usually easy around 8:30/M and 5 miles. What is the next step?
add doubles until you get to 6 doubles a week. Then decrease the pace. I'd increase the distance of your main runs before your doubles, then increase the pace of those, and only after that go more than 30 miles a week for your shorter runs.
thats what worked for me. nothing is set in stone, you may find your best option is something else.
