I’m stoked for scotland. I think they’ll vote for independence, and should. That said I’m biased: I’ve always found the Scots to be much more welcoming, friendly, and open than the English. My english friends talked non-stop crap about the US, took every chance to take shots where they could (always unprovoked) and clearly had some cultural beef, while my scottish friends were just cool and chill didn’t care, and were much like my swedish friends. So I perceive the English as bullies generally.
With that bias in mind, I don’t understand why the UK is so determined to keep the scots, and is actually threatening to not share a currency if they split! This is so childish, and is clearly crying over spilled milk rather than doing what is best for the citizens of both countries. Scotland should be one of the wealthiest per capita countries if it splits and is very very safe economically. Culturally, they are more akin to scandinavians than english, and have a unique history which the english periodically attempt to poach (eg haggis, kilts, etc).
