How much does losing weight help 5k times

I'm a little over 6'1" and have weighed around 155-160 for the past 2 ish years. lately I've been losing weight because I forget to eat occasionally and I've been running a lot. I've been around 150 the past few weeks. Is it beneficial to keep losing weight? I'm not hungry or anything, I kind of figured I might as well see how light I can get.

I know it seems like a dumb question, but I guess what I'm asking is where does being light stop helping and start hurting?

...until you start eating into the muscle mass you need to run, in which case you start slowing down.

way more than that, especially if you're carrying extra weight

Tom Osler's rule of thumb is 2 seconds per mile per pound.
