I had Centro's splits as roughly
57, 154 mid, 251 high-252 flat. for 400, 800, 1200.
For 300, 700, 1100 I'd say 42, 139.9, 237ish?
He went out in the middle of the pack. By 600, the top 6 guys had gapped the field but Centro was running very even and at the bell, he was right there in the mix. He moved up very well on the backstretch - into 3rd and looked like he might challenge for the win - until a few guys came from behind in the last 200.

A "few guys"? how about four , after getting himself into Position A with 180 left
Really did not have much last 150 at all.
7th in a field without Kiprop, Makloufi or Willis is not that great. Just being objective. -

Objectively speaking, the list you mentioned should not include Willis. Rather, it should be Kiprop, Makhloufi, and Kiplagat, although Kiplagat is inconsistent enough that there are a few other East Africans who could fill in that spot as well.
It's nice that Willis managed a 3:29 PB this season, but Kiplagat crushed him in that same meet. In fact, 5 other individuals were also in front of him, placing him 7th. And even at the Commonwealth games, 2 more Kenyans bested him to push him into bronze, and in the 2012 Olympics, he was way back in 9th, in a race where Kiprop was injured.
I get that people are ecstatic that Willis is a "fast white guy" in the 1500m, but he's nothing like the top Africans. -
Yeah, well I think magut and iguider both had bad races. How do they go from 3:30 and 3:29 to not even making the top three in an IWC race. It proves just how much DL 1500s are time trials. Also, Centro had a good race when you take a step back and realize that his world silver madel wasn't legit. Stop holdin surprise medalists to such high standards.

Centrowitz seems to be stuck in a middle-of-the-pack rut. Nevertheless, I have to say good job to him for getting out there and competing often, unlike some other runners....
-
No way that is Gebr's PB. He has run faster than that, though I hadn't seen much of him this year
-
Centro is having a mediocre year. Look for him to maybe medal again though in '15.
-
He's not having a great year with respect to place but he pr'd at 1500m, mile, and 5000 this year. When he was right behind Manzano at Monaco, he ran 3:31.09. He also ran 3:50.53 and 13:20. Recall that he's never been the one for the circuit, but had great results in championships. He had a health scare for a couple months indoors with a heart infection, so not a bad year for him actually. If he's healthy through World's next year and has a full base season, he might be medalling for a third time. Don't forget the bronze in 2011 and the silver in 2013.

And of course 4th at the Olympics in 2012, always a result subject to change if our guy Makh Daddy or Iguider test positive.

Alberto better have something up his sleeve for next year because consistent showings like this by an Olympic medalist leave a lot to be desired (LRC edited the last six words here).

Lucky for Centro he's not an Olympic medalist. -

He's a two time surprise medalist. -

Well that's that's the sad part for Centro, you're excluding Willis because he's not good enough, yet Willis would generally beat Centro, so where does that leave Centro? And don't forget Farah (sub 3:30) and Rupp (3:50.92 mile)
Still, props to Centro given his health issues, and the fact that he's been racing quite a lot, unlike some artful dodgers like Farah. -

Makh Daddy is so clued out that he would have been caught by now if he was guilty, and given his relatively muscular build, he's prolly got enough natural GH/Testosterone. I'm more suspicious of Iguider, but no proof. -
kudos to him
