Eh, Jesus was DFL. A season best, though, I guess.

Nice! By far his best outdoor performance. Anxious to see if he is more impressive in his 2nd half.
that sucks
Lagat will be 40 in ~4 months and is running 13:06.
Much less terrible performance from lomong as well
Has anyone found another feed for this?
One I was watching inexpicably switched to a steeplechase meet?

This is a new age record, isn´t it?
2nd half? It's September, the year is over. He'll be picking up pay checks at the road races.
He's the US champ at 5000m and he's been perfectly healthy but he didn't feel like matching up with the big boys in the Diamond League.
So he runs 13:06 in a race no one can even see because it doesn't make the livestream. Whoop do doo.
Oh yeah, there's the Continental Cup. Can't wait.

Absolutely normal in Germany. Don't be surprised if you follow an expected 3:27 1500m and at the bell they switch to a 58m female discus thrower until putting on her jacket. They will tell you that you will definitely not miss anything and will later show you the last 5s of the 1500m.
I didn't realize this meet was going on.
Did anyone watch the race? How did the last lap play out?? What were the intermediate splits.
What does aufg mean? Were Bumbalough and Bekele DNS or DNF?
B Test
I have seen the race. Lomong tried in the final lap to take the lead, but mainly Kipkoech, Choge and Lagat pushed the pace again and the final 120m were a very nice battle between Choge and Lagat, very close.
Lagat´s running style is still supersmooth. Great man. Hard to imagine that he can´t run like this in 2015.
Only the typical Lets Run loser would have anything but accolades for Lagat's performance today. Scintillating! Mind boggling! & Awesome! Good on you Kip.
How the heck did Lomong run like 13:06 a few years ago in his first 5k after miscounting the laps and stopping with 400m to go and he basically can't run any faster since then. Was that just the race of his life?
Ridiculous by almost 40 year old Lagat!

Yes, second half, meaning his second half marathon which he has been training for all summer and will be running this fall. Does it suck to be stupid?

We all know that the stated ages for guys like this are quite a bit younger than they really are. I'm fine with this and agree with those on LRC who say the World Junior Championships are meaningless, as they are won by those who are 24 and win the senior World Champs the next time around. Again, this doesn't bother me much and who cares??
However, from what I've read ("Running with the Kenyans" is excellent in discussion of this topic) these guys do know how old they really are. So here's my question: do any of you know how old Lagat really is? I suspect this is more impressive than many are thinking as is the de facto (but not the official) master's record. Actually the 'real' master's record may be under 13.
That's the question. How long has this guy been 40. 3 years?v. Oh, and don't get too proud, any of you if you run a 2:11 marathon at 40. Geb was significantly over 40 (although, unfortunately not 'officialy') andd broke 2:04
So choge can win two non-DL 5ks (Edmonton and Berlin) but his DL finishes are 8th, 7th, and 7th. Also, soi has been shi,t since the Paris DL.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
