dogs in restaurants

How else do you expect Korean restaurants to function?

I take my dog Travis everywhere. I found one of those "Service dog in training" vests on e-Bay and bought it. Now he goes to restaurants, the movies (he likes to bark during movies), stores, pretty much everywhere. If anyone says anything I ask for the manager and tell them Travis is learning how to help blind people and how dare you not support blind people. Works like a charm. Last time we even got a couple free passes to the movies when an user tried to kick us out because he said blind people don't go to movies anyway, and Travis was barking at him. What a prick.

Are you the guy who bragged about killing a dog on a training run back in the day?

Sorry...I didn't mean every dog. Travis is an exception.

Dogs are now allowed on outside patios where they were previously banned. Not allowed inside, nor should they be, definite health hazard for reasons mentioned.

It may vary state by stare but I believe if the owner says there dog is required for medical reasons, anxiety disorder or whatever, there dog can not be banned ANYWHERE. Not just dogs either, it can be any animal.

I think it is crazy. We went into a auto store a few weeks ago and a lady had her small dog WITH NO LEASH running around the store. Totally rude.

Ban the children but allow dogs.

There are over 4 million people bitten by dogs every year in the USA.

Dog bite claims are the single largest payout on home insurance claims.

The pro dog lobby is absolutely insane, it's amazing they are even legal.

People babble on about guns, sharks etc. most reading this will go to their grave never seeing one of the 80,000 or so shootings each year or the once a year worldwide shark attacks. If nothing else, people need a gun to protect against dogs.

Legitimate working dogs are well trained and not a problem, I'm not talking about those.

Dog interactions should always be voluntary.

I am a dog owner of the sweetest black lab you will ever meet...she's crazy smart and very well trained. I simply say, "[dog's name], get out of the kitchen" even with my back turned and she will exit. She's super loyal too though and will protect any member of the family. I tell her that someone is "ok" though and she will wag her tail and want petted.

That said, I completely agree with your stance on dogs. Dog owners too frequently believe that you should love their dog, and in no way should we increase the level to which people HAVE to interact with dogs.

To Oletimer who is taking his dog everywhere with a fake vest on it, that is lame, brother. The state of California has already had some hearings on this problem. Dogs are NOT people and should not have the same access to places as people. Take your freakin' dog to the park.

I made deliveries in the Santa Cruz mountains for 12 years. I was bitten five times...four of them were by those little yappers.

Three of the times the owners were present. Each time I said, "Your dog just bit me!"

Each time the response was the same, "My dog doesn't bite."

Even when I showed them the blood (all the bites except one were minor) three ankle bites, two wrist...the owners still refused to acknowledge that I'd been bitten. Hard to believe but true.

I've walked into yards with some scary looking dogs, but a lack of fear (intelligence?) and doggie treats go a long ways.

The smaller the dog the greater the danger.

Two of the most dangerous things delivery drivers face: yappers and parking lots.

I would not take my dogs into a restaurant because I would not want them picking up any bad habits from the hordes of misbehaving little b a s t a r d s.

I like dogs. I don't like dogs in grocery stores, restaurants, malls, or other such indoor places.
