I watched most of it. American fans probably recognize the winner Daniel Meucci as he's run lots of races in the states in the last couple years. It looked like an amazing course to run on through Zurich. Swiss defending champ Viktor Roethlin also declared it would be his last race and finished a solid 5th and helped the Swiss team barely get a bronze medal over the Italians.

Euro Champs marathon was a great race

Agreed.
Pol Marcin Chabowski broke away early and led until 35k then spontaneously combusted.
Interesting course. The crowds looked great, and the roads were narrow so the spectators were on top of the race. -
Yep, great race. That climb looked ridiculous and they had to go over 4 times. Meucci setting a pb on that course sets him up for a sub 2.10 I'd say.

Yeah, Chebowski slowed to a walk the fourth time up it and probably dropped out around there. Every time they went up the packs would split apart and then slowly come back together once it flattened out.
I wonder if Renato Canova has any info on Meucci? He ran the 10k earlier this week but could be a natural marathoner. -
Watched the ladies race yesterday thought the course was spectator friendly and got a nice turnout. "The Hill" defined the course athletically.
A good pro course but would suck as a City Event mass participation course.
Been very happy with the internet access to the meet. The event specific feeds are great. -

Sweet! -
With a Kenyan sounding name like Chebowski, I expected better

Meucci's bib number was 666

It was great to have two real races and not time trials.
