She is a professional. She doesn't have to go to school if she doesn't want to.
That said, I have no idea her plans for the rest of the year. Except it wouldn't surprise me if she is done. World Jrs was probably the big race of the season.
that 4 hours of prom really cut into her training
She said that there was a question of running Stockholm. That's a shame to waste a year with just World Juniors and no shots at setting the high school record down under 4.
What ever happened to little Eddy Lee?

OK.
But since she chose to go school, then she probably should be there for the beginning of class.
Next year's WC's are at the end of August. I think she will start class late then.
The 2016 Olympics and 2017 WC's are earlier in August so she could run those and be to school on time.
I wouldn't expect September races from her.
But you never know how things will evolve.
I think a person can keep a full time college schedule and be a professional runner.
It's probably easier to be college as a pro than as a college athlete actually.

Wow, thanks for planning so far ahead.........
Last interview I saw, she said she'd be running 2 DL's, Stockholm & Zurich, I believe.
So her non-entry at Stockholm seems to mean her season's over!
As for missing school, she said she'd be missing the first two weeks, then giggled about it!
My last reply was posted twice. That was my 1st post here, so made rookie mistake! Sorry!
Stanford is on the quarter system and typically starts no earlier than late September. Did she choose the wrong school?
I thought the rationale for running the World Juniors 3000 was that there were no prelims and would be easier to recover and prepare for races later in the year.
It was really to win a gold medal - it was assumed that it was easier to win that (true) than the 1500m or 800m.
Maybe she didn't get in. Her SB doesn't warrant it.
Her stated goal was to run fast in August so, barring injury, I would still expect to see her in a 1500 before she shuts it down.
In the past, her upcoming races were announced weeks in advance, usually by AlSal.
Or he would announce her health-training status.
I've seen nothing on Twitter or any of the track websites!
It's a mystery.
The 1500 is the final event in Stockholm. It's a stacked field, although it's not out of the question that Cain could be added at the last minute. But there are now three Americans in the race already. BMart has been added, running the 1500 and probably skipping the 800 at Birmingham. Unexpected competition for Jenny. This race and the final in Zurich could either be a sub 3:57 race with an American finishing as low as fourth and still getting a new AR.
But to get to the point, whereas Mary was running pretty intensely early this year including a strong mile and 1500 indoors, maybe Salazar has reverted to the original plan for a longer term development program. Perhaps the depth of international competition this year or the mid-winter injury has scared him a bit. Or maybe Mary just didn't want to miss freshman orientation.
Al mention a couple more races after Euro's. Might experiment with a 5k.

It's your first day on letsrun?
You've got a lot to learn son.
He broke 4.
The University of Portland was just not the place for a student at that level. Considering that she is not competing for them, that she really wanted to be able to train in Oregon with Salazar's group, and that she was a very high-achieving student from a top school, she should have gone to Reed College instead. If not for Salazar, she would presumably be at Stanford.

Don't worry. Word of advice: click on the button that asks to hide your email from others.
Does anyone else remember their first post?

Damn You Obama!!!
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
