Jack Daniels says in his running formula book 'you can use hills in place of R-paced workouts' in phase 2 of 800m training plan. But he doesn't specify the hill session.
My phase 2 will last 6 weeks, I have access to a 300m hill at around 7-8% grade, what would be a good progressive hill workout for me who wants to train for 800-1500m. I run 35mpw.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
if the workout is 5x 200m on the track. that is 1000m of work.
if you want to do that workout on the hill. do 3-4 x 300m hill to get 900m-1200m. or dont go all the way to the top of said hill and do 5x200m
Very cool. I live at the bottom of a hill that is just over 200 meters up (about 230m) (with side roads at about 100 meters and 200 meters.
I was an 800 runner loooong ago and want to do it again (at 55 and yes I've lost almost all of my speed).
