Guys like Amos, Rudisha, Rupp, etc. how much is their max bench?
Also only respond if you actually lift weights and have knowledge of what the weight would feel like if you were as small as Rupp. Thanks!

Paul McMullen was over 300lb I think I heard. Rupp is probably like 210.
Steve Scott could do 200, Joe Falcon supposedly did something approaching 300.
about 125-135
Definitely more. I lift about twice a week during seasons. When I weighed a 117 I maxed out at around 140. The project apparently does a lot of lifting, so he would probably max out around 180-200 pounds.
Pure speculation....
A runner who actually lifts....maybe 200lbs.
A top level runner who doesn't lift....maybe 135lb.

One rep with a spot maybe. You need some mass to bench 200 pounds more than once.
Many of the "clean" women sprinters can out lift the strongest distance runners
I kid you not I saw a Ms. Olympia competitor lift years ago she did 50 percent more than I did at my peak....
Don't need that much mass. Depends on the size of the runner.
A 150-160lb runner could do it if he trained to. I was a shredded 155lb and benched 245 for 1....granted wasn't running much then but was putting in a good 15-20 miles on a bike 4-5 times a week.
Someone around Solinsky's size could do it if he wanted to. Pre was around 150lbs? He could do it.

There's probably a HUGE amount of variation

this^^. I've read where some Kenyans in the training camps will happily run three times a day but grumble and complain when doing 5-10 push-ups.
Elite runners? About 100
Letsrunners? About 270

Yes, that's what a max is...
Yeah I find this comment confusing as well.
What little bro's do in the gym by performing a BB Row while the other bro performs a bench is NOT a spot..lol
Take bar to chest, lift bar above chest. Rep complete.
Spotter only there to make sure you don't crush yourself from a failed attempt...NOT there to actually help you lift the damn thing. I hate when people spot me. Get your fingers off my bar! :)

i was lifting pretty consistently a couple times a week this spring with decent fitness, running 50-60 a week. i'm 6'1 and was around 150-155 bodyweight, wasn't doing any 1 rep maxes but i was able to do at least a few reps at 135. probably could have maxed out at 160 or something. no chance rupp is able to put up 200, but i bet he could outlift me by a bit.
Alan Webb's one rep max is 225 based on his 3 sets of 15 @ 150 lbs.

webb, obviously, is not your typical distance runner. dude's ripped like a sprinter.
Chris Solinsky - 235
When I was consistently benching and running I weighed about 145lbs (give or take 3 or 4) and was 5'11. I maxed at about 185. Given that rupp weighs less but has a legit coach that knows about strength training i'd imagine rupp could max about the same. Anywhere from 165-190
