If you really think the Kenyans and Ethiopians are always in great form when running against Farah then you aren't paying attention. Where has Merga been? Where was Farah's competition in the 10000m? You're only picking one race for each of those Ethiopians. What about all of the other races??
First, isn't Merga sort of done? I don't think he's had great results in a while...
Second, the point I was trying to make was that there's someone always in competitive form from Kenya and Ethiopia at these championships. You're 100% correct in saying that every one of Mo's East African competition is not always in great form. But there is always someone who can throw down a challenge in the championships.
Also, I feel like the 10000 has less and less of a reason for remaining an Olympic event. It's completely noncompetitive at this point. It's not even a DL event anymore, and there are only 2 10000s at DL meets this year. I'm expecting it to be phased out in the not too distant future.
