What is the hardest thing about being a meet promoter. What are some of the unexpected duties that come with the job.
Does he have any tips for other meet promoters about currying favor with the media?

Yes, I concur with lucky_kid's question. Please ask him that!
Also, I would like to see asked "In terms of the big track meet, the Michigan Track Classic, you put on, do you feel that events like this across the nation could help bring up the popularity of the sport, as opposed to just the traditional meets we are used to."

Hello LRC nation,
After a near 5 year break, "Track Talk" is back. What better than the CG/European break in action for Americans to motivate us to get going with our in-depth interviews.
Here are some past episodes:

We are hoping that later today (Thursday 7/31/2014) we'll have a show on live at 12 noon ET with Olympic silver medallist Nick Willis. The Kiwi is in the midst of a 5k/1500 double at Commonwealths and is enjoying a dream season having PRd at the miel (3:49) and 1500 (3:29).
In addition to running fast and being a father, he's also a meet promoter as he's putting on the Michigan Track Clasic on August 10th in Saline, Michigan once he's done with CGs.
Last year, the meet was a BIG success and hopefully this year with 11 sub 3:55 milers and 6 sub 2:00 women, it will be even better.
If you live close to Michigan, get your tickets now:

Anyway, hopefully everything works technologically and we can have Nick on the show. If so, what questions do you want me to ask him?
I'm hoping it's really "A conversation with Nick Willis" and sort of like a Bill Simmons type thing.
So post your questions below and I'll try to get to them.
My conversation with Nick Willis is now complete.
The podcast can be listened to/downloaded here:

Nick is great to talk to. While talking to him for over an hour, he talked about his training for the 5k this year, what keeps him in the game at age 31 (running is the best thing for him to be a stay at home dad), the best way to run the 1500 (negative split he went 153.4 1st 800, 1:50.4 last 800 when he ran 3:29), his role promoting Michigan Track Classic, doping and whom he views as the best 1500 guy on the plaent.
A few highlights if you don't have all day:
Somehwere around the 20 minute mark (18-22) he talked about wanting to find out how fast he could run and how important it was to run 329.
Around the 30 minute mark, he talks about how once you commit as kiwi to going overseas you gotta go all in.
In the last 10 minutes, we talked about Kiprop being despondent after running 3:28, the difference between attitude and ability and doping.
PS. Warning. Unfortunately, we had some interference on the call a few times during the first 40 minutes. We apologize for that.
The best parts of the podcast are the first 25 minutes and last 25 minutes as there were few interference problems.
We thought it was interference from Skype but now believe it was a caller, calling in an not being muted (DIY you are sick individual if you did that on purpose. We hope it was a mistake).
One more thing. I forgot to ask Willis who he likes for the Rudisha/Amos battle today.
he emailed me this, "I predict rudisha surprises everyone and doesnt lead the first lap, then goes with 300 to go and wins"

Willis is from my home town Lower Hutt, New Zealand. From the same club system I ran in. Hurrah for Nick.
