Steve Hooker had to "retire" due to the same reasons. Shame she wasn't such a big name, would have been off like him.
Another sacrificial lamb. Meanwhile chumps like Dibaba are able to do as they please.
You can't just say that about Steve Hooker. Kostetskaya, who competed in the U.S. in high school and college(?), is Russian and you know that their doping record shows obvious systematic evidence of cheating. Hooker got injured. Now this comes from 2011 and so it must have been a re-test. Are there going to be others caught from this World Championships re-test?
Wow, what a disappointment (but not surprising since she's Russian). I followed her career going back to high school. For those who don't know, she wen to high school in Arkansas and went to Texas State (briefly?) when the team had the Russian coach. Old thread about her:

"Kostetskaya was charged under IAAF Rule 32.2b for “use/attempted use of a prohibited substance/method” at the 2011 world championships in Daegu where she finished fifth in the 800m."
That is three years ago, and is total BS.
All the bogus drug agencies are doing is making up charges out of nothing, and the athletes have no recourse, because (1) there is no due process, and (2) there is no credible evidence that exists.
Has she admitted to using drugs?
It is a biological passport case. It is listed as such in the updated IAAF list of banned athletes: KOSTETSKAYA Ekaterina RUS F· ABP Case - IAAF Rule 32.2b
Use/attempted use of a prohibited
substance/method
30.08.11 2 years ineligibility 20 January 2015

Wasn't the Texas State coach her mom? Or am I conflating different parts of the story (e.g., maybe her mom was at Ark State, which could help explain why someone would choose to live in Jonesboro, AR)?
It's worth noting that Hooker had already jumped 6m and won Olympic gold before he had even met Kostetskaya, so not sure that his results should be questioned directly because of this. Still, you must imagine that if she did dope he should have at least suspected it.
Still a great pull for a curly head ginger.

not married I see.
The husband is always the last to know when the wife is doing the dance of the two-backed beast or when she is dancing with the devil.

The biological passport is simply psuedo science, nothing to do with real and very normal conditions.
The great beautiful white Hooker is simply incapable of doping.
J.R what is your background?
You insinuate WADA are "witch-hunters" and question the validity the biological passport, do you have expertise in this field of study? Or are you simply defending a friend

How do they work out the dates?
Presumably: A test from 30.08.11 was the first where they detected abnormalities when they compared it to the rest of her ABP baseline. She is disqualified from that date, and all results from that date and after gets annulled. Then she got 2 years ineligibility which ends 20 January 2015.
