Would they have DQ'd her in the 3000 if she also ran in the other three but dropped out after a lap?
There wasn't a 5000 at world juniors.
Silver in 1500, bronze at 800. The 3k was the right choice.

Who cares?? She only ran the 3000m (and won), she didn't run any other events so any speculation is moot. Why are so many people obsessed with what she might have done - are your lives so shallow and empty that you have to create false secenarios to entertain yourselves. Please get lives!!!
Congrats to Mary - World Champion. Now step up to the Senior level and do something more than Al Webb. Win at that level (Simpson has) and this validates all the Junior hype - that Hasay had at the same age but hasn't been able to live up to yet.
Personally I think speculating is fun. That's why we always love to make predictions before races
I think the 1500 would have come down to Seyaum and Cain over the last 200. She would have been right up with the top two in the 800 for the kick, and I would think she could've hung on with the two Ethiopians in the 5000.
Medals across the board for sure, I'd think bronze in the 5k, gold in the 800 (Mary is smart enough not to have fallen into the trap set by that Icelandic girl)and it's a toss-up for me at the line for gold/silver in the 1500.
