And Mary Cain has not broken 2:01 outside of Eugene. Plenty of athletes out there to accuse -- let's wait a while before adding Sahily Diago to the list.

True, but I recently had a look at that 2:00.01 for 2nd in Rome [ahead of Ajee, among others] and thought it was quite impressive. Seems to me like she peaked early in the season. I think the same could be true of the top 6 in the women's 1500m today and that it's entirely possible that as of this moment, Cain and Jess Judd are the top two female junior middle distance runners in the world. Which is NOT to say I think either Cain or Judd is currently capable of hitting the times Sahily and Sayaum ran earlier in the year.
1:59 is not 1:57, the 800 is not Mary's primary event, and Cain has been very consistent and transparent at the top level in all events except rust-buster 800s early season. Diago is more of a black box situation. If she was from Russia or China we wouldn't even bother to post a thread.

An important fact that has been lost in the detail is that "How Soon is Now" was a terrific song.
Maybe she prefers running in hot conditions, or like others said maybe she peaked hard in the spring.
It's never the case that juniors are inconsistent.
