Huddle ran 36:13 (5:10.4 pace) and won by 1:07 over Sarah Hall. It's worth noting that Huddle's time is the 4th fastest ever and would have won last year when they had foreigners as the winning time last year was 36:34.
Sean Quigley won the men's race over Maverick Darling in 33:27 (4:46.7 pace). For comparison's sake, the winning time last year with foreigners was 32:15 and Meb ran 32:39.
A nice post-race women's recap fropm the Quad-City times is here:

Here is huddle post-race. -
"It's good to be in shape." Mel Brooks.
I'll read the info but I didn't know this was a foreign-free race? -
Why does the U.S. run these unorthodox events no other country acknowledges? Is it because we can't compete with the rest of the world in real events. I never heard of a 7 mile race.
Why don't we have other events we can win...like a 3.9 mile run. -
It's somewhat close to 12k, 2-3 minute difference.
-
Is a shame that Sara Hall didn't move up in distance earlier in her career.
-
I know basically nothing of Sean quigley, but am glad he's doing well.
Happy to see maverick darling doing well. -
Dude, this is an old-school road-race with heavy tradition that dates to back-in-the-day. The USATF Running Circuit hits up multiple road-race distances and one xc champs.

I was born in the 90s... Dates, events, history of the running circuit? -
It obviously doesn't make any sense to say Huddle (or anyone running her time) would have won last year because her time is faster than last year's time. Anyway, awesome race by Huddle. She was a class above this field, for sure.

Why does the article say she won in Monaco?
-
Anyone else see this?
24. Joan Benoit-Samuelson, 43:40 -

Bix 7 is in conjunction with the Bix Biederbeck Jazz Fest. The race started out small in the mid q 1970s. It's always been 7 miles. Started out as a local event with just a few dozen runners. But within just a couple years it started drawing in more runners including some of the best post college runners in the region. In 1980 they brought in Bill Rodgers who should have been in Moscow for the Olympics. He ran a fast time, as fast as the winner today, seemed to really enjoy himself and he's been back every year since. The race just took off after that and became a major stop on the summer circuit. It's had its share of world class runners. What's with the American only theme this year? -
For the same reason your girlfriend dumped you...it's more interesting and exciting.

Actually, I saw Amy Hastings in the race as well. Think she had a bad day, but Huddle wasn't a shoe-in for the first few miles.
