2011 bronze medallist at worlds, 2012 european champ - not bad for a retiree.
made the Olympic final as a 19 year old (with a legit birthdate)
6 feet tall like almost all great 800 runners.

Bit of a generalisation.
Kipketer was 5'10", Coe 5'9"!

Haha. I see what you did there.
Kipketer was as tall as Borza which can be seen when they raced each other.

Coe being a 5'9 runt and holding the WR for 18 years debunks the idea that one need be 6 feet or taller to be a great 800m runner.
I said "almost all great 800 runners," are you illiterate?
Not that Coe really counts as great anyhow, having only gone sub-1:43 twice.
Borza only broke 1:43 twice as well.
Two out of the three greatest were under 6 feet. Try again.
One of my all time favorite runners, sad to see him go but it was a great career
Y'all take a look at the Borzakovskiy 4x25 thread for some great stuff
Statistically, 800 meter runners at the top level are the tallest of all the track runners - that is, excluding the field event crowd.
Marathoners are the shortest (small surprise, right?).
Bad Wigins, please think before you speak, stop being a talking head!
Did Yuriy ever hold the world record in the 800?
Did Yuriy ever set one, not eleven world records like Sebastian Coe?
How much has technology, training and recovery advanced since Sebastian Coe had the world record, lighter shoes, better tracks?
THINK, if you're still unsure go to that rectangular box at the top of your screen and type in
and once you are at the site type in Sebastian Coe in the search box and press enter.
1:41.73, dude you're not even worth my time, yet alone Sebastian Coe.

To be honest those things have improved very little. But yes, most would agree Coe was superior to Borza. Well done.

Not so sure its as minimal as you think. Look at the bleached pot holed old track Coe ran on in Florence. I'd say the top current fast mondo tracks like Monaco, Zurich, Rieti, etc would be at least 0.4 faster over 2 laps. Take away another 0.2-0.3 for running wide on the 3rd bend and Coe of 33 years ago is within a few tenths of the current WR.
And that's before looking at advances in training, physiology, psychology, injury recovery etc.

Most 800m greats were also right-handed. Try again.

That's because most people are right handed, not because it helps in the 800m. Most people are not 6 feet tall. Many 800m runners are 6 ft tall because it helps in the 800m.
Rudisha - 6'3"
Kipketer - 6'0"
Coe - 5'9"
Amos - 5'10"
Cruz - 6'2"
Khamis - 5'9"
Koskei - ???
Bungei - ???
Aman - 5'9"
Borzakovskiy - 6'0"
Kitum - 5'8"
Bosse - 6'0"
Bucher - ???
Rodal - 6'2"
Gray - 6'4"
400m runners are taller still. And 200m sprinters are the tallest.
