Are you saying that these people are idiots because they claimed he hadn't run under the Olympic or W.C. "A" standard?
Were they wrong?

Grats on the A standard (finally) Mr. Leer.

There are no more A standards.
Guys, calm it down. He didn't have an A standard, now he does. Now that he has 3:34/3:51, he may be able to get into another DL this season, but he's gonna have to put in a surge between 700-1000m in order to even get into the top ten. Nice run will if you're reading this :()-"go OTC"
Leer is having a breakout year. I'm more impressed by the win than the time.

OTC Elite Elijah Greer also had a PB in Huesden with a 1:44.91. 3rd race this week. This might also get Greer into a DL this season. Congrats to both!

rinkus
That was me all these years.
It is about time he got the standard because he has had numerous chances over the years. Now he can concentrate on placing top 3 and mking a team and no more whining!
From the 5k:
Solinsky, 13:50
Fernandez, DNS
Derrick, 13:14

We are not in the qualifying window yet for the next WCs. That won't begin until October 1.
And we won't know what the qualifying standard is for the 1500m until the IAAF meeting in November.
So, while he did run under the "A" standard for the last WCs, that's pretty meaningless.
Not true.
One standard for WC's and it certainly wont be lower than 3:35.0.
window always opens around May 4th (Payton Jordan). They would not have enough for meet if the window opened October/November!

Yes, all too true.
The qualifying period for the 10000m and marathon has already opened but the window for the 1500m does not open until October 1.
And the standard for the 1500m will not be approved until November.
"Council also approved Entry Standards for the 10,000m, marathons, race walking and combined events as follows.
Event - Men / Women
10,000m - 27:45.00 / 32:00.00
Marathon - 2:18:00 / 2:44:00
Decathlon / Heptathlon - 8075 / 6075
20km Race Walk - 1:25:00 / 1:36:00
50km Race Walk - 4:06:00
Notes:
· The Qualifying period for these events began on 1 January 2014
· The Qualifying period for all other events begins on 1 October 2014
· Entry Standards for all other events to be approved in November 2014"
